Hamilton’s beloved Arkells have just dropped the video to their popular single, People’s Champ, and it is all kinds of good and all kinds of… Hamilton.
People’s Champ is a fantastic song and one of the most ‘Arkells’ songs they’ve released. It is high energy, fun to sing and has a positive likable message. This video matches the vibe perfectly and ramps it up even higher.
This video features Max and the boys dancing and partying everywhere from the HSR, to Grandad’s Donuts, to Martin’s Bowl, to a Steel Plant, to the HMCS Haida Ship. Can you name any more of the locations? Hamilton looks really good in this video. People’s Champ also features a lot of familiar Hamiltonian faces that you will recognize. The video is inclusive, high energy, fun and really great.
The Arkells are gearing up for one of the biggest events of the summer: Arkells Rally.
From the band:
“People’s Champ” is the first single to be announced off the upcoming fifth studio album from Arkells, set for release later this year. Written and recorded in Toronto by Arkells, produced by previous collaborator with the band, Eric Ratz (“Knocking at the Door” and “Leather Jacket”), and mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers, The 1975), “People’s Champ” is an upbeat, horn-infused, politically-charged anthem that is resonating deeply with listeners. The song is set to debut next week as a key theme to the NHL’s Stanley Cup final.
