With all that’s new and hip opening up in Hamilton’s “smokin’ hot” culinary scene; sometimes you’ve just got to bring it back to basics.
Take Bronzies; it’s a classic Hamilton staple that has been serving up pizza pies, lasagna, and spaghetti and meatballs for 40 years.
The portions are huge, the sauce is perfection, and everything is piping hot and super fresh.
We went on a Friday night with reservations (definitely recommended for the weekend). The restaurant was bustling and all the tables were full. Service was quick considering the dinner time rush. We were in and out with multiple large orders in an hour and a half.
To start the night off we ordered a pitcher of sangria followed by The Sicilian salad; a crispy iceberg lettuce with black olives, tomatoes, salami, and shaved parmesan. I loved it!
Next came Calamari and Spaghetti with red clam tomato sauce. Seriously, this was amazing. The texture and the flavours -oh my goodness! It was my favourite of the night.
An order of spaghetti and meatballs arrived at the table followed by a large pizza bianca and panzerottis. Although, panzerottis are not listed on their menu you can still get them made to order. Again portions were giant. The meals came with large side salads plus a slice of the softest doughiest white bread with butter. The pizza and panzerottis were OK (not my favourite in the city) but the pastas and salads were for sure the winners for me. Next time I’ll have to try the lasagna.
My one regret, not getting an order of garlic bread. I’m sure it would’ve been perfect.
Loved this place. It’s family friendly with a kids menu and they do take out too!
Happy that I could finally cross off having been to this gem of an establishment. I’ll definitely be back again soon.
