Norma Gale is the latest single from Terra Lightfoot’s new album, New Mistakes. This is a beautiful song that lets Terra’s soulful vocals shine. Norma Gale is also a great example of Terra’s strong songwriting; the narrative that she brings forth in this song is captivating.
“I wrote this song after meeting a living legend from the 1970s country scene. Norma Gale played the Grand Ole Opry countless times, backed up Loretta Lynn, went on a date with Conway Twitty and was invited to visit Graceland when Elvis actually LIVED there. She was a road dog who loved singing and loved making music, just like me. I wrote this song to tell Norma’s story, to share her successes and her hardships, and most of all to chronicle the unique relationship between Norma and her son Marc, who she raised all on her own while touring across the world as a single mom. Heavy. Hope you like it.” – Terra Lightfoot
